Michelle L'Amour's Naked Girls Reading is coming to Boston and we want you to come and read.

Naked Girls Reading was started in Chicago in March 2009 by international showgirl Michelle L’amour and producer Franky Vivid. The idea had rolled around in their heads for a few years in different formats, but with the opening of Studio L’amour in 2008 it materialized as the perfect intimate live event. After the very first event it was obvious to all in attendance that something big had just happened, something spiritual. Immediately, the press took hold and emails started coming in from cities all over the country from ladies interested in starting their own franchise. Now Boston joins Chicago, L.A., New York, Denver, and a whole host of other great cities as an official Chapter (yes, we said it) of Naked Girls Reading. Naked Girls Reading is a group of beautiful ladies who love to read…naked... outloud...in front of an audience. That’s really it. There’s not a whole lot more to it. Should there be? You don’t have to look for something larger here – something pretentious or even seedy. Once you experience it, you’ll stop asking so many questions and just let the concept take you. There’s something beautiful, something altogether more intimate, about a woman reading pretty much anything in her, well, altogether. It’s just that simple. So why are we still talking about it? Because people can’t seem to accept its simplicity.

We do not have our first event scheduled, but we're aiming for February in Cambridge or Allston and anticipate doing readings . We're currently accepting applications for readers. You don't have to be a model or a dancer. You do need to have a good speaking voice and be comfortable being naked in front of an audience. We're open to women of all ages, races, sizes, and shapes.

* A picture of yourself (clothed is fine, naked is better. Naked and reading is best!)

Four shows across three nights.

2000 pictures at the BQ101 recital and I'd be willing to bet that I cracked 3500 at the Nutcracker tonight, maybe more. And I'll very probably be going back next week for one more show.

I'm exhausted beyond the telling, strangely hungry and god damn but my hand hurts from holding that camera. The camera and I share a lot in common in that both our batteries are completely drained.

And I loved it.

The last time I pushed myself this hard was for the book. This time...

In the meantime I'm going to start to upload the photos I took to my computer and collapse in a boneless heap. Here's hoping I can actually be something like productive tomorrow.

And as I sit down to work, worrying in the back of my brain about just how hectic the next two weeks are going to be (a couple of shows and a move), I hit shuffle on my iPod and what should come on "With A Little Help From My Friends".

Halfway through the first Burlesque 101 recital of the evening, my lens died.

The urge to shout "Oh fuck me!" at the top of my lungs a was difficult one to repress. Especially given that I still had four more acts to go in that show, plus another show, plus shooting Land of the Sweets on Monday night...

Fortunately, I planned ahead because I'd been having troubles for a month or so, and I was able to get the rest of the show with a back up lens but it's still something of a shock.

The Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 EFS (for the camera geeks in the audience) has been my working lens for about three years now, I think. It's a pricey piece of glass and I have used it a lot. I did most of my shooting for Tassels and Emeralds with it, it's taken me from the Pink Door to the Triple Door and now I'm more than a little concerned.

This is something that can be repaired and I contacted a local company about it a while back and was told that, based on what I'd written, it would probably cost about $200 to repair. That's the best case scenario. The worst case involves not having this lens again until I save my shekels and/or hope I win the lottery.

I have a plan and I have back ups but I really didn't want to have to deal with this now. Big shows, paying gigs and it looks like I'll be moving after Christmas.

No pressure.

"I know you've been just waiting for my show report for V for Vixen, but you will have to wait a little longer, Constant Readers. I've been wretchedly ill for almost 2 weeks (if you do the math, you'll see V for Vixen was smack in the middle) and have only begun to regain my strength and voice.
Last night at rehearsal Intern Ashleigh surprised us with a holiday gift: a coffee table book of photographs she took at our shows! It's mostly pictures from V for Vixen, but there's some from Buxom & Bawdy's, and even one from Laff Your Pants Off. And of course, a few shots of our hard-working interns all glammed up. I was so touched. The pictures are terrific — lots of action shots. She's so sweet and talented too!"
